JWP enables you to create discount codes and distribute them to your viewers. Viewers can apply a discount code during checkout to receive a reduction in the original price of a subscription.

Discount codes provide various benefits:

• Boost sales by offering exclusive discounts to your viewers
• Increase customer loyalty through personalized discount codes
• Track marketing effectiveness by monitoring code usage during checkout

Create a discount code

Follow these steps to create a discount code from the JWP dashboard:

1. From the Access & Pricing page, on the Discount codes tab, click Create discount code. The creation page appears.
2. Enter the Name of the discount. This name will only be visible to you in the dashboard and help you identify it uniquely from other discount codes.
3. Under Details, enter an alphanumeric Code. This code will be the value that viewers must enter during checkout to obtain a discount.
4. Enter the Discount percent.
5. Under Code redemption, select an option to define the number of times the code can be redeemed.
   
   

   📘

   The code redemption limit determines the total number of viewers who can redeem the code at checkout.

   The code redemption limit does not apply to redemptions that occur during a rebill cycle.

   Option	Description
   Unlimited	Allows an unlimited number of viewers to redeem the code Follow this step to set this option: Click the Unlimited radio button.
   Custom	Allows only a specific number of viewers to redeem the code Follow this step to set this option: Click the Custom radio button. A textbox appears. Enter the number of times that the code can be redeemed.

   
   
6. Define the date range for code redemption.
7. Under Discount duration, select an option to define how many subscription cycles will be automatically discounted.
   
   

   Option	Description
   Forever	Applies the discount code to indefinite subscription cycles Follow this step to apply a discount code permanently: Click the Forever radio button.
   Once	Applies the discount code to only one subscription cycle Follow this step to apply a discount code once: Click the Once radio button.
   Custom number of subscription cycles	Applies the discount code to a specific number of subscription cycles Follow these steps to apply a discount code for a specific number of cycles: Click the Custom number of subscription cycles radio button. A textbox appears. Enter the number of subscription cycles to receive the discount.

   
   
8. Add a plan to the discount code.
9. Click Save.

The discount code has been created and will become valid according to its date range. Additionally, the discount code now appears in the Discount codes table.

Define a date range

Follow these steps to define the redemption period for the discount code:

1. Under Code redemption, in the From row, click the calender textbox. A dropdown calendar appears.
2. Click a calendar date to set the start date.
3. Click within the time textbox. A dropdown menu appears.
4. Set the time to begin the discount. The time and date appears in UTC format beside the row.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 within the To row.

Defining a discount code’s date range determines its Status in the Discount codes table. A discount code may have any of the following statuses:

• Active: Currently valid and can be redeemed
• Scheduled: Will become valid for redemption at a future date
• Expired: No longer valid for redemption

Add a plan

If you have not already, create a plan to associate with a discount code.

Follow these steps to associate a plan with the discount code:

1. Under Applicable to, click + Add plan. A dropdown menu appears.
2. Select an existing plan from the dropdown menu. The plan tile appears in the Applicable to section.
3. Click Save.
4. (Optional) Repeat steps 1-3 to add another plan.

The discount code can now be applied to the plan at checkout. Additionally, the code now appears in the Discount codes section of the plan settings.
